The Justice Studies Center of the Americas (JSCA) invites anyone from the region who is interested to participate in the fourth edition of the research internship program at Osgoode Law School, York University (Canada). This competition is part of the project “Improving Access to Civil Justice in Latin America” and is funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

 


The internships will last for two weeks (March 2-13, 2020) and are designed to support civil procedure reform processes of Latin American and Caribbean countries. [Click here to review the program requirements].

 

Interns will travel to Toronto, Canada to develop a research project in their area of interest and will have the opportunity to participate in university activities and acquire knowledge that will be important for transforming their local reality. Benefits include round-trip airfare, lodging, and a stipend to cover food and local transportation costs.


Applications are due by October 1, 2019. Applicants must complete an online form and submit a research proposal on a topic related to access to justice in the field of civil justice. All proposals must incorporate the gender perspective.


Program requirements include:

  • Experience with research projects related to civil procedure or the work of institutions dedicated to related issues (preferred).
  • Availability during the program dates.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • All applicants must submit the online form (available here) and a research proposal in accordance with the formats and deadlines set out in the call for proposals.
